Dentures

If you've lost your teeth through an accident, gum disease or to decay, you don't have to live with the missing teeth for the rest of your life. How your teeth look can have a huge effect on your day-to-day life and there are treatments available at the Sandilands Dental Studio that can help boost your confidence.

Every pair of dentures from Sandilands Dental Studio is manufactured using the best materials and the very latest denture technology to ensure the most comfortable fit possible. If dentures are needed they can improve the appearance of your smile, fill out your face and give you confidence. Your false teeth are finished matching your skin/tooth tone as accurately as possible, making your new smile look natural and attractive.

Gaps left by missing teeth can cause problems with eating and speech, and teeth either side of the gap can grow into the space at an angle. Sometimes, all the teeth need to be removed and replaced.
You may therefore need either:

  • Complete dentures (a full set), which replace all your upper or lower teeth, or
  • Partial dentures, which replace just one or a few missing teeth

Sandilands Dental Studio offers many different types of dentures (false teeth) including:

Upper and Lower Dentures
A full denture will be fitted if all your upper or lower teeth need to be removed or you are having an old complete denture replaced. Usually, the denture is fitted as soon as your teeth are removed, which means you won't ever be without teeth. The denture fits snugly over your gums and jawbone. These can be made of either acrylic (skin coloured) or chrome, depending on the patients needs.

Denture Implants
An increasingly popular option for replacing your missing teeth rather than having conventional bridges or partial dentures. They 'clip' the false teeth on more securely than regular dentures. See our 'Mini Implant' page to read more.

Immediate
Placed in your mouth at the time of extraction and may require supplementary adjustments after the healing process has completed.

Flexible Partial
Adapt around the shape of the teeth and gums upon insertion and removal and can be used when it is difficult or impossible to insert a plastic or light alloy denture. Flexible Partial allows the restoration to adapt to the constant movement and flexibility in your mouth. The flexibility, combined with strength and light weight, provides total comfort and great looks. No unsightly clasps mean that nobody would ever know your missing teeth! The Flexible Partial involves only non-invasive procedures, and gives you confidence in your restoration while talking, eating and most importantly, smiling!

Additions
We offer addictions to exsisting dentures in the case of tooth loose of to add extra stability. This is a very simple treatment and can normally be completed in two visits within a day.

Please note Sandilands Dental Studio makes full and partial dentures by prescription and you will receive a full oral examination inclusive of you treatment plan.
